Tottenham host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Boxing Day aiming to bounce back from Sunday’s home defeat to Chelsea, which means Jose Mourinho has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.

Hugo Lloris and Ben Davies are still sidelined with injuries, but Erik Lamela has returned to training ahead of the game. Unless Spurs’ appeal is successful, Heung-Min Son is suspended following his red card against Chelsea.

We think Mourinho will make four changes to the team that lost at the weekend, including two in defence. Danny Rose and Juan Foyth could come in at full-back, with Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier dropping to the bench.

Rotation is crucial over the festive period, so the defence isn’t the only place we’ll see changes. Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele will add freshness and control to the midfield, while Eric Dier will surely come out of the team after being hooked at half-time on Sunday.

Moussa Sissoko will move into a more attacking role on the right in the absence of Son, with Lucas Moura moving over to the left. Dele Alli and Harry Kane should keep their places despite struggling against Chelsea.

Here’s our predicted XI to face Brighton – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. That’s a much better team than started against Chelsea, that midfield pair and right back should have started. We might of just had a chance.

  2. Or drop winks and have sissoko play cm next to Ndombele and have Lucas play right wing and have Sessegnon play Left wing so he can get some minutes.

    • Agree, first on Real Madrid’s team sheet. Or any other team that will have him. He never beats the first man with his crosses

  3. Harry Winks has to play in the midfield two. He helps control the tempo of the game. I like ED, but he’s quite simply not good enough on the ball to play the role he did on Sunday.
