If you’re part of Spurs Twitter, you might have noticed some suspicious activity on Monday evening.
Tottenham’s official Twitter account ran polls throughout the day allowing fans to pick a player in each position for the club’s Team of the Decade.
The results were mostly predictable, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric receiving easily the most votes in their respective positions. But the striker category was little bit different…
After initially leading the way, Harry Kane suddenly fell behind… Peter Crouch? A little bit of research will tell you that the vote was hijacked by Liverpool fans – and supporters of other rival clubs – to prevent Kane from winning.
Obviously it was all good natured fun, even if there are an inevitable few that take the whole thing too seriously. Thankfully, Spurs’ social media saw the funny side.
Responding to Crouch’s sudden lead in the poll, Tottenham posted the tweet below.

The folks running the Twitter account have been in superb form recently, and the fans were once again delighted to see that sense of humour continue. Read some of the best responses below.
