Derby County are on the verge of completing the signing of Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, according to Derbyshire Live.

The 22-year-old centre back, who has been capped eight times by the United States, endured a difficult first half of the campaign whilst on loan at fellow Championship side Stoke City, was recalled by Spurs last week and is expected to be sent immediately back out on loan to the Pride Park outfit.

Carter-Vickers, who has made four appearances for Tottenham – with the last of those coming in an 4th Round FA Cup tie against Wycombe Wanderers back in January 2017, will spend the remainder of the season with Phillip Cocu’s men and will link up with former Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone.

The Rams currently sit 17th in the Championship and if the deal is completed in time, Carter-Vickers could be in line to make his debut against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday.
