Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will return against Norwich City on Wednesday – but Head Coach Jose Mourinho wouldn’t confirm whether the Frenchman will play from the start against the Canaries.

The 23-year-old hasn’t played since hobbling out of the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton with a hip problem and only returned to first-team training on Monday.

Ndombele, whose short time in north London has been overshadowed with a number of different injuries, has started just nine Premier League games since arriving from Lyon in the summer – with just two of those coming under Jose Mourinho.

However, the Spurs boss revealed that Ndombele will be in the squad to face the Premier League’s bottom club. He told Football.London: “He’s ready, he’s not ready for 90 minutes. He will be involved. He will be selected.

“I’m not telling you to start or come later, but no injury. Completely free. Just a question of condition and mentality to be ready, but he’s back tomorrow.”

Elsewhere, Ben Davies (ankle), Moussa Sissoko (knee) and Harry Kane (hamstring) all remain sidelined for Tottenham, but captain Hugo Lloris has recovered from the dislocated elbow he suffered against Brighton & Hove Albion back in October, although the goalkeeper is unlikely to play.
