Barcelona have entered the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to Sky Sports and the Telegraph.

Earlier this week, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed the Italian giants had made an official bid for Eriksen. And since then, reliable Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed Eriksen will join Inter in the next few days – though he believes the clubs are yet to agree a fee.

However, it seems there could be a late twist in the saga. Sky Sports is reporting that Barcelona have enquired about signing Eriksen this month. They reiterate that the Dane has agreed personal terms with Inter, but Barcelona’s interest could put a spanner in the works.

The Telegraph also believes Barcelona have spoken to Tottenham but have not made a final decision about approaching Eriksen. Of course, the 27-year-old is able to agree pre-contract terms with foreign clubs ahead of a possible free transfer in the summer, but it’s looking increasingly likely he will leave this month.

Eriksen was booed by some Spurs fans during Wednesday’s victory over Norwich, so it’s likely he will be seeking a departure now rather than in the summer.

  1. I am a Barca and Spurs fan. Some rumours you dont want to be true. If Erikssen goes to Barca he can kiss his career goodbye. These big clubs are too rich, too institutionalized to admit to mistake, if you not in their good graces you rot, while they move on to more prey. They predators, period. My advice is for CE to go to Italy where the game suits him ams his nature.

  2. Barcelona is the ideal club for Eriksen. Barcelona are deeply inspired by the Ajax school, where Eriksen played his young years before going to Tottenham. Eriksen could be the new Iniesta for Barcelona.
