Troy Parrott is set to sign a new three-and-a-half year contract with Tottenham, according to Football Insider.

The promising striker, who turns 18 on Tuesday, has seen his future come under scrutiny in recent months. Despite impressing during pre-season and making his senior debut for Spurs this term, Parrott has barely featured and has not been deemed ready to fill in for the injured Harry Kane of late.

But Football Insider is now claiming that Spurs have agreed terms with Parrott on a new contract that will run until the summer of 2023.

It will be interesting to see if his new deal results in more first-team minutes. Tottenham are desperate for a centre-forward with Kane out until April, though new signing Steven Bergwijn can play through the middle and scored on his debut against Manchester City on Sunday.

We think Parrott will be given some minutes here and there between now and the end of the season, but Spurs would probably be wise to send him out on loan to the Championship next term so that he can get some experience.
