Steve Bergwijn has been a Tottenham player for just seven days – but it’s safe to say that the Dutchman has settled into north London quite easily.

The 22-year-old had just four training sessions with his new Spurs teammates before he was thrown into the starting XI by Jose Mourinho against Manchester City on Sunday.

Bergwijn was initially enduring a difficult first showing in a Tottenham shirt, but less than 20 minutes into the second period, his debut took a turn for the better. He received a pass from Lucas Moura before controlling and then sending a rocket of an effort into the bottom corner which left City goalkeeper Ederson grasping at thin air.

If you haven’t already seen the goal enough times, you can see Bergwijn’s stunning debut strike here, but how did the winger describe his first game as a Tottenham player?

He took to Instagram and admitted he can’t wait to score more goals at the stadium – you can see the full post below.
