It’s been exactly one year since Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side began their memorable Champions League knockout campaign in 2018/2019 by beating Bundesliga leaders Bourssia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
Spurs went into the tie as underdogs and despite a tricky opening 45 minutes, struck three times in the second period – including twice in the final seven minutes – to take a giant step towards the quarter-finals.
Heung Min Son’s wonderful finish set Tottenham on the way before clinical strikes from Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente ensured Pochettino’s men took a three-goal lead to Germany.
