Dele Alli apologised to the Tottenham fans that travelled to Germany on Tuesday as Spurs crashed out of the Champions League, losing 3-0 to RB Leipzig and 4-0 on aggregate.
Jose Mourinho’s side, already without a host of key attacking players, travelled to Germany facing an uphill battle after their 1-0 defeat in north London last month, conceded twice in the opening 21 minutes which virtually secured Leipzig’s passage into the last-eight.
Alli, who was one of Tottenham’s better players on a miserable night, gave an honest interview to BT Sport before coming out and apologising on social media.
You can see the full interview below.
"We have to apologise to the fans. They travelled all this way and to go out and lose like that… They deserve better."
An honest Dele on Tottenham's Champions League exit, footballing mentality and fight to salvage their season…
