Tottenham could attempt to sign Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Lovren is out of contract in the summer of 2021 and so the summer transfer window could be Liverpool’s last opportunity to sell him – he will be able to agree pre-contract terms with foreign clubs in January next year.

The 30-year-old has made just 14 appearances across all competitions this season, with Jurgen Klopp usually preferring a centre-back partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

With that in mind, Lovren could be on the move at the end of the season. And Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi claims Spurs are one of the clubs keeping tabs on the Croatian.

It is believed the Londoners would face competition from Lazio, Arsenal and Lovren’s former club Lyon. The report also suggests Liverpool will demand around €20 million (approximately £18.25m) if they are to sell him.

Tottenham are in need of a new centre-back with Jan Vertonghen coming to the end of his contract this summer, but there will be question marks over whether Lovren is good enough for Jose Mourinho’s side.
