Barcelona are monitoring the situation of Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele ahead of a possible summer move, according to the Mirror.
Ndombele became Spurs’ record signing last June, joining from Lyon ahead of the 2019/20 season, which is currently on hold due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
After starting well by scoring on his Premier League debut against Aston Villa, Ndombele has been hindered by injury and fitness problems, losing his starting spot in the side under Jose Mourinho.
And according the Mirror, Barcelona are considering a swoop for the Frenchman this summer. It is believed Barcelona’s director of football, Eric Abidal, is keen to work with Ndombele in a bid to get the best the best out of his countryman.
There is certainly no doubting Ndombele’s talent. The 23-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance since joining Spurs, showcasing an incredible ability to dribble past players and make things happen.
However, his work-rate has to be seriously questioned – though there is of course a chance he is carrying some sort of injury.
In any case, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona make their interest concrete in the coming months.
