Darren Bent has tipped Dele Alli to leave Tottenham before Harry Kane if a big name is to depart the club in the near future.

Kane’s future has been a source of speculation in recent days after the striker admitted he may not stay at Spurs for the rest of his career. Earlier this week we relayed a report from the Manchester Evening News that suggested Manchester United have no chance of signing Kane this summer, but his comments will probably continue to fuel the rumour mill.

Asked about the possibility of Kane leaving Tottenham, former Spurs striker Bent suggested another big name player who might exit the club before the England captain.

“At the minute you don’t quite know what’s going to happen,” Bent told Football Insider.

“If you’d have asked me before who would have been the first to potentially go, I wouldn’t have said Harry Kane. I would have potentially seen a Dele Alli or someone like that going before him.

“It’s a really weird situation for them to be in.”

Alli was playing at the top of his game at the end of the 2016/17 campaign. Despite his form and fitness suffering over the last couple of seasons, the 23-year-old would likely still command a huge fee, as would Kane.

The question is: will Tottenham entertain offers for either player this summer? It will certainly to be interesting to find out.

  1. Am I the only one who objects to a Nothing player like Darren Bent regularly giving us his “opinions” on Tottenham or for that matter football matters.
He was not respected as a player and even less so as a pundit.
    Go back into hibernation.
