Tottenham may be able to sign Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia for just €30 million (£26.4m) this summer, according to the London Evening Standard.

The report claims that Valencia could be looking to sell Kondogbia, who is out of contract in the summer of 2022.

It is believed there is a particular strong chance the 27-year-old will be sold if Valencia fail to qualify for the Champions League. The La Liga side are currently four points and three places behind the the final Champions League qualification spot in the Spanish top-flight.

If they fail in their quest to play in Europe’s elite competition next term, Valencia will apparently consider selling Kondogbia for just £26.4 million – and Spurs are said to be interested.

The Central Africa Republic international would certainly be a useful addition to the squad. Jose Mourinho is currently short of defensive midfielders since Victor Wanyama left for Montreal Impact.

Whether Kondogbia will want to join Tottenham if they also fail to qualify for the Champions League remains to be seen, but club chairman Daniel Levy will surely be keen on a deal if he can get it done on the cheap.
