Liverpool are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France.

Ndombele’s future has been the source of much speculation in recent weeks, with Sky Sports claiming Barcelona are willing to offer two defenders, Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo, in exchange for Spurs’ record signing.

However, the Telegraph believes Ndombele is determined to stay at Tottenham to prove himself after being labelled a flop by many onlookers.

But with more clubs being linked with the 23-year-old, will that stance soon change?

French outlet Foot Mercato believes Liverpool retain an interest in Ndombele from last summer. The story suggests the Merseysiders could be interested in loaning the former Lyon star and agreeing a ‘large purchase option’ if things go well.

It is said that a loan would also suit Spurs, likely because the Londoners could make their money back. But we think it would be frustrating it Ndombele fulfilled his clear potential elsewhere after so much was invested in him.

Hopefully Jose Mourinho wants him to stick around and the pair work together to improve next season.
