Former West Brom striker Sadio Berahino has admitted that not joining Tottenham back in 2015 was the biggest mistake of his career.

After scoring 20 times in all competitions in the 2014-2015 campaign – which included goals against Chelsea, Liverpool and a winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford – he caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino and on transfer deadline day in August, came close to sealing a move to White Hart Lane.

However, despite handing in a written transfer request, Berahino remained at The Hawthorns and although he was linked with Tottenham the following summer, ended up moving to Stoke City where he scored just five times across three seasons.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Berahino, who is now playing his football in Belgium for Zulte Waregem, said that he regrets not signing for Spurs.
