Jose Mourinho has organised a second friendly on Saturday as Tottenham step up their preparations for their return to Premier League action against Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday week.

According to reliable journalist Alasdair Gold, Spurs are already set to play Premier League counterparts Norwich City on Friday before coming up against Championship outfit Reading 24 hours later – although the venue for either game hasn’t been confirmed.

It will give Mourinho the opportunity to use his full squad and gives crucial minutes to the likes of Paulo Gazzaniga, Davinson Sanchez and most notably, Giovani Lo Celso, who all missed Friday’s in-house training match at the new ground.

With games coming thick and fast ahead of the restart, the Portuguese is going to need as many of his players fit and ready – with Tottenham facing the prospect of playing nine league matches in less than six weeks having not played since the 3-0 Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig on 10 March.

As for Reading, they were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea on Wednesday and restart their Championship campaign at home to Stoke City a week on Saturday – sitting eight points adrift of the top-six with nine games remaining prior to the suspension of English football.
