One positive Tottenham can take from their 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Friday night was Steven Bergwijn’s opener.
It was the Dutchman’s third league goal since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in the January transfer window, and he took it really well – with a little help from David De Gea.
Unfortunately Spurs couldn’t hold onto their lead, conceding a Bruno Fernandes after Paul Pogba was felled by Eric Dier.
In his post-match interview, Bergwijn said the hosts had “waited for” United a bit in the second half, suggesting Tottenham could have done more to stop the visitors’ recovery.

“We gave everything. After three months of no football we played a good game. We can look positively on this game.”
