Tottenham player ratings: Lo Celso superb, plus a surprise 8 vs West Ham

Tottenham got back to winning ways in the Premier League after an own goal from Tomas Soucek and a late strike from Harry Kane gave Jose Mourinho’s side a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

It looked like being another frustrating evening for Spurs, but Souck turned Giovani Lo Celso’s corner into his own net before Kane swept home eight minutes from time to seal a crucial three points.

Here’s how every Tottenham player rated on the night.

Hugo Lloris, 6 – Made a sharp stop early on, but a spectator from then on in.

Serge Aurier, 6 – Few silly errors defensively, but a great outlet down the right.

Davinson Sanchez, 7 – Relatively comfortable evening overall.

Eric Dier, 8 – Continued where he left off against Manchester United on Friday, in what was another solid performance from the Englishman. Led from the back.

Ben Davies, 7 – Produced one excellent cross for Lucas that he should have converted from and contained the dangerous Jarrod Bowen well.

Moussa Sissoko, 6 – Still doesn’t look 100 per cent fit, but another 90 minutes in the tank wouldn’t have done him any harm.

Giovani Lo Celso, 8 – Awarded Sky Sports’ man of the match – and deservedly so. Tottenham’s best player on the night, claiming his first Premier League assist for the opener which came after he also set up Son for his disallowed effort. Classy performance from the Argentine.

Lucas Moura, 5 – Should have put Spurs in front before the break, but skewed well wide from point-blank range on, a moment that pretty much summed up his evening.

Dele Alli, 5 – Didn’t contribute much and was rightly hooked after the break.

Son Heung-min, 6 – Thought he’d opened the scoring just before half-time with an excellent finish, only for VAR to rule it out. Assisted Kane’s goal with a perfectly-weighted pass, however.

Harry Kane, 7 – Much improved from his showing against United. Squandered a golden opportunity right at the beginning of the second-half, but made up for it by netting his first Premier League goal since December in the 82nd minute.

Substitutes

Erik Lamela, 7 – Encouraging display off the bench. Played a major role in Tottenham’s second – winning the ball back before feeding Son, who picked out Kane to confirm the win.

Steven Bergwijn, 6 – Unlucky not to start after Friday, but was energetic and could have topped his cameo with another goal, but fired into the side-netting.

Harry Winks, N/A – Replaced Son late on.
