Tottenham will only make a move for Napoli star Arkadiusz Milik if Harry Kane is sold this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Last month we relayed a story from Italian publication Corriere dello Sport that claimed Spurs are battling Atletico Madrid for Milik’s signature, with Napoli valuing the striker at around €50 million (£44.8m).

And now another Italian outlet, TuttoMercatoWeb, is reporting that Milik is attracting interest from a number of clubs including Juventus, Schalke and Tottenham.

However, it is believed the only way Milik will join Spurs is if Kane departs.

TuttoMercatoWeb reiterates Napoli’s €50 million valuation of Milik, which is steep for a player who would play second fiddle to Kane were he to sign for Tottenham. That’s obviously why a deal is unrealistic unless the England captain leaves north London.

But Kane’s exit looks increasingly unlikely. Spurs are bound to stick a massive price tag on their talisman this summer, and the financial uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus crisis means his suitors will almost certainly be put off.

That said, Tottenham should be trying to find a striker to Milik’s quality to ease the pressure on Kane, who has looked tired since returning from a long-term hamstring injury.
