Some Tottenham fans have been pleading for right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to be given another opportunity under Jose Mourinho after his performance for Southampton in their 3-1 victory over Watford on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan with the Saints until the end of the season, had played just 72 minutes for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men prior to the suspension of English football, but has featured heavily for Southampton since returning from injury and impressed at Vicarage Road.
Walker-Peters’ days as a Tottenham player look to be limited – even with just one recognised right-back currently at the club in Serge Aurier – after making only one appearance under Mourinho, which led to him being loaned out to the St Mary’s outfit.
However, a number of Spurs supporters on Twitter think Mourinho should reconsider his decision – with some suggesting that the England defender should start over Aurier once he returns from the South Coast.
Look at some the best responses below.
Walker-peters. Written off by most spurs fans for getting thrown in against Barca where every prem game before that he was good. Miss managed by Poch 100% and now playing catch-up. Would happily have him instead of aurier right now. #THFC #COYS

Apparently Walker-Peters was great today. Had a good half of football against Arsenal too
If he kicks on, sell Serge, keep Kyle?

Theres no way anyone can tell me that Serge Aurier is a better right back than Kyle Walker Peters.

Unpopular opinion but Kyle Walker peters should be given a chance at right back for Spurs, looks like he’s improved a lot for the saints?⚪️ pic.twitter.com/gWlrPYOdYW
