Monaco are keen on signing Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, according to Sky Sports.
Aurier still has two-years remaining on his contract, but has struggled for consistency since making the switch to the Premier League from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
And despite showing improvements under Jose Mourinho – making 35 appearances in total this season – the 27-year-old could return to France less than three years after leaving, even though he’s currently Spurs’ only recognised right-back.
Aurier wasn’t able to nail a spot down at right-back during his first two seasons with the north London outfit, but his fortunes have changed since the departure of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid last July.
And although Aurier’s attacking performances have got better – epitomised by the fact he’s had a hand in nine goals in all competitions this season – he’s still prone to defensive mistakes, meaning Mourinho will no doubt be looking to upgrade in the upcoming window – especially with Kyle Walker-Peters also expected to leave.
The report from Sky Sports suggest that Monaco’s head of recruitment, ex-Spurs man Paul Mitchell, is interested in bringing the Ivory Coast international to the Stade Louis II this summer.
