Tottenham will be looking to continue their post-lockdown revival when they travel to Sheffield United tonight.
Jose Mourinho’s side have enjoyed a nine-day break since beating rivals West Ham 2-0 last Tuesday, and are in desperate need of another three points to ensure they remain in contention with the top-six.
The Spurs boss continues to be without defensive duo Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga, who haven’t featured since the restart, but the Portuguese has no other injury concerns ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane.
And given Tottenham’s strong defensive performances against both Manchester United and West Ham, we think the that Mourinho will name an unchanged back-five for a third straight game, meaning Toby Alderweireld’s wait for a first start since the resumption will have to continue.
Moving forward, Harry Winks should come back into the starting XI after his rest against the Hammers, and will almost certainty start alongside the influential Giovani Lo Celso, who was Spurs’ standout performer in the 2-0 success over David Moyes’ men.
After Lucas Moura’ lacklusture performance last week, Steven Bergwijn should return in a front-three with Heung Min Son and Harry Kane, leaving Mourinho with one position to fill – with the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela all bidding for a starting place.
We think that after his impressive performance off the bench against West Ham, and Alli’s quiet display on his return from suspension, Lamela will start behind Kane.
Predicted XI: Lloris, Aurier, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Lo Celso, Son, Lamela, Bergwijn, Kane.
