Tottenham are interested in signing highly-rated Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, according to Football Insider.

The 20-year-old made three appearances for the Reds, including his debut in the EFL Cup last season, but caught the attention of a number of Premier League sides during a successful loan spell at Swansea during half of the 2019-2020 campaign in which he scored 11 goals in 22 matches to help the Welsh outfit reach the Championship play-offs.

Jose Mourinho remains in the hunt for an understudy to Harry Kane – with Spurs facing a potential grueling schedule in the early months of the season in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Europa League and have just one recognised senior striker in Kane.

We relayed a story from the Insider earlier this morning that the Portuguese has personally contacted Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and is keen on signing the England forward. And now the believe that Mourinho is plotting a surprise move for Brewster, despite his inexperience at the top level.

Spurs have already signed midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojberg and former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart – and now Mourinho appears to be making another striker his priority.

With Mourinho having let Troy Parrott join Millwall on loan, we think that a deal to bring Brewster to north London looks unlikely – with Wilson a far more adequate proposition.
