The starting line-up for Tottenham’s first pre-season friendly against Ipswich Town has been confirmed.
Spurs face the League One side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday at 3pm, followed by games against Reading and Birmingham City next week and a trip to Watford in early September.
As we relayed yesterday, Harry Kane is unavailable as he is quarantining following a family holiday in the Bahamas, according to the Daily Mail.
On a more positive note, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will make his first appearance in a Spurs shirt since his move from Southampton.
Hojbjerg is part of the team that will play the first half against Ipswich. The wording – ‘first-half team’ – suggests Mourinho will put out a completely different XI in the second half, though there are only nine substitutes, two of whom are goalkeepers.
The first-half team also includes the likes of Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, but there is no place for Serge Aurier, who continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan or Bayer Leverkusen.
Instead of Aurier, Juan Foyth starts at right-back. Ryan Sessegnon is on the other flank, with Ben Davies moving inside to centre-back.
