Matt Doherty is officially a Tottenham player.
The Republic of Ireland right-back has signed a four-year contract with Jose Mourinho’s side and becomes Spurs’ third summer signing following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart through the door in N17.
As with every new signing, Doherty sat down with Spurs TV for his very first interview as a Tottenham player.
The 28-year-old, who will wear the number two shirt, admitted that signing for Tottenham is one of the best days and his career and joked that he wanted to fly home early from his holiday to play in yesterday’s pre-season game against Birmingham City.
"You can probably see it in my face, I'm so excited to get going. One of the best days in my career so far."
