Jose Mourinho has received a timely injury boost ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League opener against Everton on Sunday after midfielder Harry Winks was pictured in training at Hotspur Way on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their Nations League double header against Iceland on Saturday and Denmark tonight.

However, just days after the announcement, Winks pulled out of the squad, although neither England or Tottenham commented on the reason for his withdrawal.

Winks then didn’t feature at Watford on Saturday and rumours were circulating that he’d picked up an injury and could miss the start of the season.

But he joined the rest of his teammates that weren’t called up for international duty for training this morning, including recent signing Matt Doherty, who was involved for the first time since joining after playing for the Republic of Ireland against Finland on Sunday.

There was no sign of either Japhet Tanganga or Giovani Lo Celso – with both players failing to play a single minute in pre-season.
