Tottenham are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, but face competition from Everton, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old made just 12 starts in the Bundesliga last term, but still managed to score five goals and add three assists as Leverkusen narrowly missed out on a Champions League place before losing to Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Europa League last month.
Bailey still has three years remaining on his Leverkusen contract, but revealed earlier this summer about his desire to play in the Premier League.
Sky Sports believe that Spurs have previously watched Bailey, who has scored once in seven international caps for Jamaica, although the German outfit are demanding £40m for the former Genk man, a price that Jose Mourinho’s side simply won’t be able to compete with.
Tottenham’s priority remains a striker to compete with Harry Kane, although reliable-Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said earlier this month that he expects the north London outfit to sign a new winger this summer – with the highly-rated Bailey firmly on their radar.
No they are not this is just another made up paper selling rubbish story. They are cash rich so no chance of the price coming down, they don’t need to sell and we well where do I start. We need to sell to make room as we have no space for foreign classed players.
just what we need another winger…
Absolutely true spursnut d and what is more he would cost a lot so let the big boys buy him(including Everton,Newcastle, Aston Villa not to mention the Chelsea’s or Manchester clubs).
Last thing we need is another wide player. After the slow build up against Everton on Sunday, with hardly a pass going forwards, we need a creative midfielder to replace Eriksen.
