Gareth Bale is officially a Tottenham Hotspur player once again.
After a speculation-filled few days, the Welshman – who left Spurs for Real Madrid seven years ago – has rejoined the Londoners on a season-long loan. Tottenham confirmed the completion of the deal on Saturday evening, sending the club’s fans into a frenzy on social media.
Football London claims Spurs will have the option to extend Bale’s loan by a further year next summer, taking him to the end of his current Real Madrid contract.
Lost in the craziness of the Bale news is another significant boost to Tottenham’s squad. Joining Bale from Real Madrid is left-back Sergio Reguilon, who joins on a permanent deal. It has been widely reported, however, that there is a buy-back clause – Real Madrid will be able to re-sign Reguilon for €45 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Reguilon was revealed first by Spurs on Twitter. At the end of his announcement video, the Spaniard picks up the phone and says: “Hello my friend, I think it’s your turn” – a final tease of Bale’s confirmation.
Bale. Is. Back.
