Italian side Genoa have ‘gone cold’ on a move for Tottenham defender Danny Rose, according to Football Insider.
Rose’s Spurs future is in serious doubt due to a number of circumstances. The left-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United after a row with Jose Mourinho that was caught on camera by Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ documentary.
Having struggled for game time after Mourinho’s appointment, Rose reacted negatively to seeing others start ahead of him and was shipped off to Newcastle, before returning to Tottenham at the end of his loan spell.
And now it seems Spurs are trying to get rid of him on a permanent basis. But his latest suitors no longer appear keen…
Football Insider believes Genoa have pulled out of a deal to sign the 30-year-old, who is valued at £5 million by Tottenham.
With the Londoners struggling to command such a fee, the report claims a season-long loan – which would take Rose up to the end of his current contract – is now also an option.
Whether it’s another loan or a permanent move, it seems Rose’s Spurs career is very close to coming to an end.
