Jose Mourinho is facing an potential outrageous pile-up of fixtures after Tottenham’s Carabao Cup tie against League Two outfit Leyton Orient was postponed.
Spurs were set to make the short shirt to east London for their third-round clash against Ross Embleton’s side on Tuesday.
However, the game was thrown into serious doubt on Monday morning after a number of Orient players tested positive for COVID-19.

And just hours before kick-off on Tuesday afternoon, the EFL released a statement which confirmed that the game would be called-off.
It remains unclear whether Tottenham will progress to round four or the game will be played at a later date – with competition rules stating that Spurs should be awarded the tie after Orient were unable to fulfil the fixture and therefore host either Chelsea or Barnsley in the fourth round.
But Orient chairman Nigel Travis was adamant when speaking to talkSPORT on Tuesday that Mourinho’s side won’t be given a bye.
The EFL statement said: “Discussions are ongoing between the relevant stakeholders in regards to the implications of the decision not to play tonight’s game and a further update will be provided in due course.”
