Jose Mourinho has revealed that Heung-Min Son will be available to return from his hamstring injury after the international break.
The South Korean international was replaced at half-time in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle on Sunday and the Spurs boss admitted that Son would be out for a “while”.
Son missed a five matches last season after fracturing his arm at Aston Villa in February and looked set to spend another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
However, Mourinho was asked about the extent of his injury after his Tottenham side beat Chelsea on penalties to reach the last-eight of the Carabao Cup and provided a positive update on the fitness of the 27-year-old.
He said: (quotes via Football.London) “We will have him back after the international break.”
It means that Son will certainly miss Thursday’s Europa League play-off against Maccabi Haifa and then Sunday’s trip to Manchester United, but could be fit for the West Ham game on 17 October – Spurs’ first after the international break.
It’s good that Son (and Dele) will not be polaying Internnational football during the break. International football has not been kind to many teams. Players get used up, injured annd go off form.
They can also bring a player into form as well for example Kane doesn’t score many in the month of August but how many times does he use the England matches at the end of August and beginning of September to score his first goals of the season
Do hope Wales will have the sense not to pick Gareth Bale it would not be fair on Spurs who are trying to get the lad fit again. After the Chelsea match i am of the opinion that we have the makings of a good team new players excellent in second half of match we look like we have left back problem sorted.
Thats good news about SON and hope he stays injury free also Kane too as we need a backup sooner than later. Deli Ali can do a job better than some players we have as back up.
