Tottenham are interested in signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, if they miss out on Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar, according to Sky Sports.
Jose Mourinho’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their five competitive matches this season and the Spurs boss is desperate to add to his defensive ranks.
Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have shared the workload in recent weeks – with the latter two starting Sunday’s draw with Newcastle in the Premier League.
Tottenham have been monitoring Slovakian Skriniar, and although Inter boss Antonio Conte admitted on Saturday that the Italian outfit might be forced to sell, the two clubs are still yet to agree a fee, according to the Express and a deal isn’t thought to be close.
And if Spurs fail to capture Skriniar, they’ll turn their attention to Rudiger, who hasn’t featured in any of Chelsea’s four matches this term and has fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard – making only 26 appearances last season and none since the FA Cup final.
Sky Sports believe that the German would be keen on a loan move – with the Blues unlikely to let the 27-year-old sign for any of their Premier League rivals permanently.
