Dennis Cirkin is close to agreeing fresh terms at Tottenham, Football Insider have confirmed.

The 18-year-old defender hasn’t yet made his senior debut at Spurs, but has regularly been in and around Jose Mourinho’s first-team setup in recent months.

Cirkin is highly-rated by the Portuguese and featured in all four of Tottenham’s pre-season matches – making starts against both Watford and Birmingham City.

And Football Insider believe that the left-back is going to pen a two-year deal less than 12 months after he signed his first professional contract back in November.

Cirkin was named on the bench for the FA Cup games against Boro and Southampton earlier this year and then the 1-0 win over Everton in the Premier League.

Despite the signing of Real Madrid’s Sergio Regulion pushing the teenager further down the pecking order, the departure of Ryan Sessegnon to Hoffenheim will have helped Cirkin’s chances of getting playing time.

Especially as Mourinho is likely to rest key players in the Europa League group stages and therefore Cirkin will be hoping to be given a chance to showcase his talent in the coming months.
