Gareth Bale has returned to training with Tottenham and all the signs point towards a swift return.

Earlier this week, Spurs posted a number of photos of Bale on social media showing the Welshman taking part in training drills alongside new striker Carlos Vinicius.

And according to the Daily Mail, both Bale and Vinicius completed the session ‘unscathed’. Meanwhile, Football London believes Bale’s Tottenham teammates and the staff have been ‘blown away’ by the 31-year-old’s ‘quality and drive’ on the training pitch.

All of which points towards Bale making a swift return to action when the international break is over. Bale was not called up by Wales so that he could spend time recovering his sharpness with Spurs.

Of course, it remains unclear whether Bale will start or be on the bench against West Ham United next weekend. If he continues to complete training sessions, there’s no reason he won’t be in the squad, but match fitness is another matter altogether.

If he isn’t deemed fully match fit, Bale may only be able to manage a cameo appearance off the bench. Only time will tell, but the reports mentioned above hint at good news.
