Tottenham are readying a £13 million bid for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon, according to Football Insider.
On deadline day, we relayed a story from the Athletic revealing Spurs’ late interest in Rodon. The Londoners have until October 16 to make their move, with Premier League and EFL Clubs still able to do business with each other until then.
And now, Football Insider is reporting that Tottenham are ready to act on their interest with a £13 million bid. However, it is believed Swansea may ask for at least £15 million if they are to sell.
Football Insider believes Rodon could be loaned back to Swansea with an option to recall him in January, hinting this may be a way to bring his initial price down.
But that seems unlikely given Jose Mourinho probably wants a centre-back to come into the squad straight away, with Spurs competing on multiple fronts and in need of more bodies.
Rodon started for Wales against England on Thursday night and certainly didn’t embarrass himself despite a comfortable victory for Gareth Southgate’s men.
You lot are having a laugh. Joe Rodon is worth £20 Million anywhere. You lot are cheapskates. Iff you want him that bad PAY UP or get lost
John, it’s called NEGOTIATING. Daniel Levy is the past master at that dark art and he acquired that skill without reading Trump’s book. At the time of writing this, Spurs are only £2M short of Swansea’s evaluation so, with some crafty incentives, et alia on Levy’s part, the trade deal will be done before the deadline of Oct 16. I’m confident both parties will be satisfied in the end.
yes i agree with you,i say 20million is still cheap compared what other teams, they know swansea need the money to send to the u.s.a.
Rodon is all potential at this point. He needs to show a step up from championship to league. There should be match time and performance related incentives baked in for next 3 months where he will have a chance to play Europa and cup matches and if no loan back to Swansea post Jan, that should be paid by Spurs. It will also be best for the player.
Rondon is the best Centre back in the Championship. He would walk in at leat half of Premiership teams. He as good as Dier and Sanchez and guaranteed will get better. Levy, as normal wants top dollar if he’s selling and wants purchases on the cheap. Either pay what he’s worth or fish off
