It was a busy day for Tottenham players in Sunday’s international’s.
Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld both started England’s 2-1 Nations League victory over Belgium at Wembley – with the Spurs duo playing 90 minutes as the Three Lions came from behind to move ahead the Red Devils in Group A2.
It was a mixed afternoon for Dier, who conceded a penalty on Romelu Lukaku, whilst Harry Kane was a second-half substitute after suffering from a tight muscle in training last week.
Full-backs Ben Davies and Matt Doherty both played the full match as Republic of Ireland and Wales played out a goalless draw in Dublin, but Steven Bergwijn wasn’t involved as his Netherlands side drew 0-0 with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Elsewhere, Hugo Lloris captained France as they were held by Portugal, whilst Tottenham’s first summer signing, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, played the whole match as Denmark beat Iceland 3-0 in Reykjavik – with former Spurs man Christian Eriksen on the scoresheet.
