Tottenham and Swansea City are still £5 million apart in their valuation of Joe Rodon with just hours to go until the transfer deadline, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

It is believed Swansea want £15 million if they are to sell the 22-year-old centre-back, who featured for Wales during the international break and is now back with his club.

But Spurs only want to pay £10 million after spending more heavily than many expected in the current transfer window.

Premier League and EFL Clubs can still do business until 5pm today despite the main transfer window closing last week.

Ornstein claims an agreement on personal terms between Tottenham and Rodon will not be a problem if the clubs can settle on a fee.

And so it looks like Spurs fans face a nervous wait to see if chairman Daniel Levy can turn a 9/10 window into 10/10 window.

Tottenham require further cover at centre-back given Jose Mourinho still doesn’t seem to know his best partnership and the fact there will be plenty of rotation in the Europa League this term.

But will the Londoners get Rodon over the line? We think there’s a good chance it will happen – let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

  1. Really not that bothered.
For sure we need strengthening at centre half but do have Sanchez,Dier and Toby all 3 decent to good players.Tanganga looks a very good prospect and should be given game time.Davies can also play there and by all accounts Fagan Woolcot is a good prospect.
Waiting until January and trying to go for Skriniar or other top player again seems a better option.
