Luke Amos’ horrible luck in recent seasons has continued after the ex-Tottenham midfielder suffered another rupture to his ACL, QPR have confirmed.
The 23-year-old sustained a similar problem playing for Spurs’ Under-23s, just days after making his Premier League debut and only first-team appearance for Tottenham against Newcastle United back in August 2018 at St James’ Park.
Amos was forced to miss 12 months before he recovered and joined the Loftus Road outfit on a season-long loan deal last summer.
He made that loan deal permanent in August after he was surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho, and had started QPR’s first five league matches this season.
But 72 minutes into their goalless draw with Bournemouth on Saturday, Amos was replaced and after the scan results showed a rupture to his ACL, will undergo surgery on his right knee and is likely to be ruled out of action for around nine months.
