Tottenham begin their Europa League campaign against LASK of Austria on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho will be expecting a reaction after Spurs blew a three-goal lead in the closing stages of their London derby against West Ham on Sunday to drop two crucial points.

The Portuguese boss is expected to make wholesale changes for the group stage match – but when speaking to the press on Wednesday afternoon, the Tottenham boss confirmed one player who will keep his place from the Hammers draw.

Mourinho was asked whether Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale will play from the start tomorrow.

He said: “The only player that I confirm is Davinson Sanchez because he comes to the press conference and I hope you have many questions for him but don’t ask him any questions about the amazing goal he scored on Sunday.” (Quotes via Football.London).

With Heung Min Son and Harry Kane having started the majority of Spurs’ Premier League and European games this season, both could be rested – meaning Vinicius and Bale should be named in the starting XI, but Mourinho wasn’t in the mood to give anything away.

But we now know that Sanchez will start once again despite scoring a calamitous own goal against West Ham.
