Three Tottenham players were in action for Wales this weekend as Gareth Bale, Ben Davies and Joe Rodon saw off the Republic of Ireland – and their Spurs teammate Matt Doherty – in the UEFA Nations League.
Bale assisted the winner with a clever header to set up David Brooks, which you can watch here.
Rodon also made a significant contribution, producing a brilliant last-ditch tackle to prevent Ireland from going through on goal. Watch below.
It was a moment that may have given Jose Mourinho food for thought. With Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez all looking shaky at times this season, perhaps Mourinho will give Rodon a chance at centre-back sooner rather than later.
