The new agent of Newcastle star Sean Longstaff has told those close to the midfielder that he ‘could sort a move to Tottenham’, according to the Daily Mail.

Longstaff has been seeking an improved contract from Newcastle, the report suggests, since breaking into the team two years ago, but talks over a new deal broke down when he suffered a knee injury in March last year.

The 23-year-old has 18 months left on his current contract, and the Mail says he has now hired Pini Zahavi as his new agent to sort his future.

But rather that commit his long-term future to Newcastle, it looks like Longstaff – with the help of Zahavi – could seek a move away from the north east.

The Mail claims Zahavi has told those close to Longstaff that pushing for a move to Spurs is an option, though there has never really been talk of the Londoners being interested in Longstaff.

Perhaps Zahavi is simply promising his client bigger things than playing for Newcastle for the rest of his career, but who knows? In any case, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
