Tottenham will be hoping to bring their losing run to an end when they travel to Stoke City for Wednesday night’s League Cup quarter-final.

Jose Mourinho has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection as he aims to avoid fatigue across the busy festive schedule.

We think there will be 10 changes to the team that started in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League, with only Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg keeping his place.

Joe Hart will start between the sticks, protected by a back four Matt Doherty, Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga and Ben Davies. Joe Rodon is cup-tied.

Hojbjerg is likely to partner Harry Winks in a two-man midfield. It could be Sissoko instead of Hojbjerg, but the latter is a clear Mourinho favourite and seems to start most games regardless of injury risk.

Further forward, Steven Bergwijn will probably get the nod in a central role ahead of Dele Alli, with Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale providing support for Carlos Vinicius up front.

  1. That is it; disrespect the competition and the opposition by playing your 2nd 11; you are then surprised if you lose and regret being eliminated from a competition you had every chance of winning.

  2. This seems to be the correct side to me except I would think that Aurier will start – not Doherty who will be rested for the Wolves match.

  3. To be a journalist in the past you needed a grasp of the English language and an understanding of what you are writing about, neither of which are present in this article
