Paris Saint-Germain are set to hold ‘further talks’ with Tottenham over a loan move for Dele Alli, according to the Guardian.

Mauricio Pochettino, who aided Alli’s rapid development at Spurs, has apparently made the 24-year-old his priority target this month – it is believed Pochettino would prefer the French champions to sign Alli rather than Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan.

However, there is a hitch. The Guardian claims Spurs are reluctant to let Alli leave, with Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy agreeing he will be needed between now and the end of the season.

Tottenham are still competing in four competitions and losing Alli could leave them short in central attacking midfield, especially if the worrying injury records of Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso don’t improve.

That said, the report says further talks are planned, so perhaps Spurs will be open to Alli’s exit if there is some sort of financial gain – or maybe Levy wants to bring in a replacement before letting Alli leave.

  1. Defense Boring & Technically Awful.
3 things I thought ide never associate with my 60yr old friendship and support of THFC….the current squad has got 5 of my top 10 worse ever players.
Top 6 and a cup will be a miracle.

    • 5 of our/your top 10 worst ever players are in the current squad? Surely you jest? I could name 10 worse players than any in the current squad in a heartbeat (without even going beyond the end of the 1970’s!). Starting with 3 ex-Gooners in the ’60’s and early 70’s. Laurie Brown, David Jenkins and Willie Young! Throw in Terry Naylor and a couple of goalies, Daines and Kendall, who had the unenviable task of replacing big Pat and we’re not even past our brief season in Division 2. Final 4? Just to give it a more contemporary flavour, rather than dredge up more dross from the 70’s. Gregor Rasiak, Jason Cundy, Federico Fazio, Kevin Scott.
