Tottenham defender Serge Aurier could miss Tottenham’s FA Cup clash with Everton tomorrow.

Aurier has been Spurs’ first-choice right-back for the majority of the campaign, but was replaced with 22 minutes in the victory over West Brom on Saturday – with Matt Doherty introduced in his place.

And Doherty, whose generally struggled since making the switch from Wolves last summer, now looks to be given an opportunity for a rare start in the fifth-round tie at Goodison Park.

The Republic of Ireland international has appeared 19 times in all competitions for Spurs, but has been restricted to just three Premier League starts in the previous three months.

However, with Mourinho sounding less than optimistic over Aurier’s chances of featuring on Merseyside, Doherty could well replace him.

Mourinho provided an update on the right-back, and said: “He left the game [with] a little problem. Can he play tomorrow? I don’t know, I don’t think so but we have a training session later in the afternoon.” (Quotes via Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).

Elsewhere, the Spurs boss confirmed that both Sergio Regulion and Giovani Lo Celso remained sidelined and will definitely miss the game.

  1. Just can’t believe Reguillon / La Celso can be injured that long. Surely Spurs have top physios to help clear the muscle injuries.they ought to be able to be treated daily ..masssge / physio daily . Most hamstring injuries come from poor posture / lower back / buttock leading to the insertion of the hamstring…a few weeks max !!!!!
