Giovani Lo Celso has suffered a fresh injury setback ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League tie with Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.

Lo Celso hasn’t featured for Spurs since being forced off in the defeat to Leicester before Christmas with a hamstring problem.

The Tottenham midfielder has missed no less than 20 matches in all competitions, although there was a growing optimism that the Argentine could return in time for Sunday’s north London derby.

But when speaking before tomorrow’s Europa League clash, the Spurs boss confirmed that Lo Celso isn’t available to face Zagreb, but admitted that his new problem isn’t too serious.

Mourinho said: “Gio is not ready but it’s nothing to do with his previous important injury, from which he’s totally recovered.” (Quotes via the Evening Standard).

“But with his accumulation of work he’s got a bit of back pain so he’s had to stop what he’s doing. So, not [available] for this match.”
