Harry Kane scored in each half as Tottenham beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in the first leg of their last 16 Europa League tie.

Here’s how we rated the players on the day:

Hugo Lloris, 6 – One straight-forward save aside, he wasn’t troubled.

Serge Aurier, 7 – Really bright performance on his return to the side. Sent over some fine crosses, one of which forced a mistake for Kane’s second.

Eric Dier, 6 – A yellow card aside, it was a comfortable evening.

Davinson Sanchez, 6 – Not forced into much defending, although his long-range passing was off.

Ben Davies, 7 – Got forward well and found Lamela, who created the first, before making a crucial clearance at the back-post at 1-0.

Moussa Sissoko, 7 – Produced some neat exchanges with Aurier in the opening period.

Tanguy Ndombele, 7 – Sloppy first-half, but improved after the break. Unlucky not to win a penalty, one of several times he was fouled in the second period. Played an inch-perfect raking pass to Aurier in the build-up to Kane’s second, before he was replaced by Hojbjerg.

Erik Lamela, 8 – Really bright and positive performance from Lamela, whose brilliant run and strike hit the post which allowed Kane to open the scoring.

Dele Alli, 6 – Involved in the opener, but it wasn’t his night. Lacked quality and was hooked.

Heung Min Son, 7 – Only given an hour ahead of Sunday, but proved a constant threat with his pace and Kane’s passing ability.

Harry Kane, 9 – Another brilliant display from Tottenham’s talisman. Showed his incredible array of passing throughout, whilst scoring once in either half, the second a brilliant finish.

Substitutes:

Gareth Bale, 7 – Almost set up Bergwijn with his first two touches before going close with a thunderous long-range free-kick.

Steven Bergwijn, 6 – Should’ve scored with his first touch, but his shot lacked conviction.

Lucas Moura, 6 – Provided fresh legs as always.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 5 – Cynically booked which rules him out of the second leg.

Carlos Vinicius, 5 – Replaced Kane in the closing stages and missed a decent chance with the final kick of the game.
