Jose Mourinho has cooled fears Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele could miss Sunday’s north London derby through injury.

Ndombele took a number of knocks to his ankles against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League on Thursday and was eventually substituted.

Meanwhile, Kane – who scored twice in the 2-0 victory – was kicked on the knee in the latter stages and had to apply an icepack after being taken off.

The striker eventually took off the icepack and didn’t appear to be walking gingerly after the game.

And Mourinho has suggested both Ndombele and Kane will be fine to play against Arsenal, even with minor issues.

Speaking to reporters after the game (via the Independent), Mourinho said: “No concern [for Ndombele], even Harry I don’t believe it is anything big. It’s a game everyone wants to play on Sunday, little things are not going to stop them playing. I believe they are going to be OK.”

It’s obviously very good news for Spurs that Kane will be available. He has been in superb form of late and he loves a goal against the Gunners.

Ndombele could also play a crucial role in the derby, especially if he plays in the attacking midfield role behind Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale.

  1. Cannot for the life of me understand why Harry was not taken off immediately after his 2nd goal.Too much of a risk keeping him on at that stage.
Nice to see Moura, Lamela and Sanchez finding some excellent form.Lamela in particular,if he can remain fit, could be our trump card to some success (starting some games and an impact substitute in others).

  2. Spurs are really improving but of course the squad needs strengthening in the summer. If Reguilon returns to Real Madrid we will need another top flight left back. If Hugo Loris does not want to sign a new contract with us then we will need a top flight goalkeeper to replace him. As regards the problematic right back position I do think we need another first class right back and the recent news is that we could be signing Max Aaron’s from Norwich City. I really hope that this will happen because Aaron’s is first class. Aurier played well last night but I fear the inevitable give away penalty or crucial free kick is never far away when he plays. As regards a CB why if Joe Rodon overlooked so much? OK he does not have the experience of a Skriniar but he has tremendous potential. Diet must go, He naked too many mistakes and is not fast enough. Sissoko is slowing down and not playing anywhere near his best. Ben Davies is only average.
