Everton are interested in signing Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon, according to reports in Spain.

Reguilon joined Spurs from Real Madrid last summer and has emerged as Jose Mourinho’s first choice left-back, though injuries have seen Ben Davies often preferred to the Spaniard this term.

When fit, however, Reguilon has proven himself to be one of the best attacking left-backs in the Premier League.

Everton also possess a highly-rated left-back in Lucas Digne, but Spanish outlet El Gol claims the Frenchman could be targeted by Atletico Madrid this summer.

That means the Everton will need a replacement, and the report suggests the Toffees could move for Reguilon.

They will apparently only pursue Reguilon if Digne leaves, but to be honest we don’t think this story has legs.

It’s virtually impossible to imagine Reguilon would leave Spurs for Everton, even if the Merseysiders qualify for Europe and Jose Mourinho’s men don’t.

Indeed, Reguilon would only leave for a club on another level to Tottenham, and he probably won’t depart this summer regardless having only been in north London for a year.
