Heung Min Son’s hamstring injury not serious, according to Football.London.
The South Korean was forced off after just 19 minutes of Sunday’s north London derby, and looked set for a long spell on the sidelines having hobbled off at the Emirates Stadium.
In fact, the ever-reliable Alasdair Gold believes that whilst Son would appear likely to miss Thursday’s Europa League tie in Zagreb, he could return for Spurs’ trip to Newcastle after the international break, and possibly in time for the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.
With Erik Lamela, who replaced Son at Arsenal, now serving a one-match ban following his red card for elbowing Kieran Tierney, a speedy return would be a timely boost for Jose Mourinho, especially with their hectic schedule set to continue, providing they see of Dinamo Zagreb.
But Son’s issue shouldn’t come as a great surprise. Only Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made more appearances (42) than the Tottenham attacker in all competitions this season, so missing out at Villa this weekend might work in Mourinho’s favour in the long run.
