Tottenham will aim to reverse their dreadful form when they travel to Aston Villa on Sunday night.

Out of the Europa League, Jose Mourinho can now play what he considers to be his strongest XI in every Premier League game in a bid to finish in the top four.

In others words, Sunday’s line-up may give us an indication of the XI Mourinho will pick for the rest of the season.

We think the only question mark is at right-back. Matt Doherty is likely to start as Serge Aurier played on Thursday, but not a lot separates the two players in terms of quality right now.

The rest of the team effectively picks itself. Doherty will be joined in the back four by Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Sergio Reguilon in front of Hugo Lloris.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele should start as the central midfield partnership.

The front four will consist of Lucas Moura, Gareth Bale, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Kane.

Lo Celso will probably drop out for Son Heung-min once the South Korean recovers from injury, although the former was decent in Zagreb and could get a run in the team.

Here’s our predicted XI to face Villa – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

Note: A previous version of this article included Erik Lamela in the line-up because the author erased the north London derby from his memory and forgot the Argentine was suspended.

  1. Sanchez and Doherty are definitely like accidents waiting to happen please try and play some youth team players instead. These players will definitely throw Mourhino under the bus

  2. I agree with a lot of the comments made thus far. Lo Celso should and I believe will start with Lamela suspended. I also feel that Rodon should be given a start instead of Sanchez and that jafed should start at right back. He is much more reliable in that position at the moment than Doherty and Aurier. We must field a side with players who will fight and give 100% for this club and the badge, regardless of their position on the field.

  3. After what has happened the past 2 games id mix it up and freshen things up like so:

    4-3-3
    Lloris
    Tanganga Rodon Toby Sergio
    Hojberg Ndombele Lo Celso
    Moura Kane Scarlett

  4. Please Don’t use Lamela until he go bec he is useless player
Big disappoint with Bale last Thursday but give him another chance
No way to play Dele very lazy and could not run fast he is defenitly falter player so let him go in Summer
